Advice on new Australian visa processing and arrangements for residents of Brunei Darussalam

The Australian High Commission in Bandar Seri Begawan will cease receipt and processing of all over the counter visa applications effective 1st March 2011.

Brunei citizens and all Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) countries who are travelling to Australia for up to three (3) months for tourism or business purposes will experience no change of service and will continue to apply for an ETA through a travel agent, airline or online.

All non ETA countries need to submit their visa application directly to the Australian High Commission in Kuala Lumpur at the address below.

    Temporary Entry Visas

All ETA countries will continue to apply for an ETA through a travel agent, airline or online. More information is available at immi.gov.au/visitors/tourist/967/how-to-apply.htm

Brunei citizens wanting to stay as a visitor for more than twelve (12) months can apply for an e676 Tourist Visa online at immi.gov.au/e_visa/visitors.htm

    Student Visas
Brunei citizens, being assessment level 1, are eligible to apply for a student visa online at http://www.australia.org.my/klpr/studentvisa.html. Lodgement of student e-visas can be done up to four (4) months prior to course commencement date.

All other student visa applicants who wish to check their assessment level can visit http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/pdf/assessment-levels.pdf.

All assessment level 1 countries are eligible to apply for an online visa.  All countries that are listed as assessment level 2-4 are required to apply for their student visa through the Australian High Commission in Kuala Lumpur at the address below.

    Permanent Entry Visas

Permanent Entry visa applications previously lodged with the Australian High Commission in Bandar Seri Begawan will be lodged with the Australian High Commission in Kuala Lumpur at the address below.
